ACCREDITATION
CareNet Counseling East is accredited as a service center by the Samaritan
Institute, a network of pastoral counseling centers. Our counselors are
individually certified by professional associations appropriate to their
own discipline. Accreditation and certification mean that CareNet Counseling
East and its counselors have met rigorous professional standards and offer
quality counseling and care.
AFFILIATION

The Samaritan Ministry, founded in 1972, is the international partnership
of the Samaritan Institute and affiliated Samaritan Centers. With over
500 locations in 33 states and Japan, Samaritan Centers provide more that
400,000 hours of counseling, education, and consultation each year. A
Samaritan Center is an interfaith, health care ministry. Samaritan Counseling
Centers provide outpatient counseling for individuals, couples, families,
and groups; educational programs; and consultation for clergy, congregations
and other professionals and organizations.
The Samaritan Institute accredits Samaritan Centers. To receive accreditation,
a Center must meet standards in the areas of organizational structure,
personnel and procedure policies, physical facilities, and professional
accountability. Each Samaritan Center is accountable to a local board
of directors made up of community leaders who represent supporting congregations.
The Samaritan program has been acknowledged by the American Medical Association,
the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, The President's Commission
on Mental Health, Center for Management Systems, and major church denominations.
